HISTORY: A LOOK BACK
Pravidhik Jagat ( The Technical World in Nepali) was registered as a fortnight paper on Science and Technology at Kathmandu District Office on July 10, 1983 with register number 167/039/40. The first decade of its publication the paper was regular and uninterrupted. It was well known and earned a fame in the field of Nepalese science and technology during eighties and early nineties. Due to unavoidable situation the publication of the paper was irregular in last few years.

PRESENT EVOLUTION: THE ONLINE VERSION
In 2001 Pravidhik Jagat is launched its publication with new concept and with a great enthusiasm. It will concentrate mostly on Nepal and will be available in online version at www.pravidhik.com. The information related to science and technology in Nepal will be presented in the form of web pages. The online publication will be free of charge to print and distribute for non-profit use. By presenting the information in online version, it will be easily and cost effectively accessible through out the world for anyone. We hope by doing that we will increase the awareness of  present status of science and technology of Himalayan Kingdom of Nepal.

GOALS: WHAT WE WANT TO ACHIEVE
Our effort at Pravidhik Jagat will help in the research of the scientists and technologists all over the world to study the diversity in the nature found in Nepal. Nepal is the land of endangered fauna and flora, there are more than 30 different kinds of endangered wild animals, many species of reptiles and insects, nearly 800 species of birds, more than 70 species of tree and about 400 species of medicinal plants.

There are various indigenous and primitive technologies in different fields in Nepal. These technologies will most probably lead to new researches. In addition to that, many scientist and technologists in Nepal are doing valuable researches in different fields. Through Pravidhik Jagat, we can publish their finding to fellow scientists and to interested industrialists throughout the world. There is great opportunities for scientists and technologist to work and study various field related to science and technology in Nepal.

The main objective of Pravidhik Jagat is to disseminate the news and features on science and technology of Nepal. Please look above to get a overview of what Pravidhik Jagat would like to contribute. Pravidhik Jagat is expecting cooperation from the concerned scientists, technologists and entrepreneurs in the various field related to science and technology for development of information on technology.

PEOPLE BEHIND THE SCENE: WHO ARE WE
The editor of the website is the editor of its print version, Mr. Govinda Ram Shrestha. Mr. Shrestha is well experienced in the field of information and technology and had been awarded RONAST Science and Technology Promotion Award in 1986 for creating awareness of science and technology through Agriculture Journal (Krishi Vyavashaya) and Science and Technology paper (Pravidhik Jagat), and by social activities. The technical aspect of the website such as hosting and design will be supported by team of innovative, hardworking and disciplined people of Networks Nepal Pvt. Ltd.
